Cookie Cutter People

Identity Drain

The Thinking Man

I definitely did a lot of experimentation with concept throughout this assingment. "Cookie Cutter People" was definitely the hardest. It proved very challenging to produce the sillouet effect useing artificial backlight. However, after two days of trial and error, I managed to produce a fairly good result. The other photos proved to be much easier in technical execution. The only chalenge with these was conveying the desiered concept. I did a lot of experimentation with lighting, location, arrangement of subjects, and shot angle. Overalll the results were very satisfying. The only thing I found dissapointing  was the way the body in "The Thinking Man" was shadowed. I also wish I could've mande "Cookie Cutter People" a little brighter.

Memory Recreation

This photo is a recreation of the first time I saw snow, which was when I moved to Colorado 3 years ago. I can use this memory because, unlike most of my classmates, I haven't lived in a snowy enviorment my whole life. In fact I grew up in a hot, desert enviorment so seeing snow was a shock to me, making it a very prominite memory. In order to make this photo more memory like, I used negative clarity in camera raw. I also slightly increased the black level to simulate a fading memory. I used a slightly cool temprature to convey how cold I felt at the time.
