Landscape/Place Assingment

I feel that this assingment went fairly well under the circumstances. I had to start over in the middle, so I didn't have time to take as many photos as I wanted, but I'm still satisfied with the final products. After putting it on the blog, I realized the tree in the second to last photo looked a little funny, and i wish I caught that sooner. Other than that this project turned out well.

Duplicity Assingment

Floating Man
This project was fairly simple. I had to try multiple camera positions before achieving a successful background shot. Then I had my subjects assume several different poses. Computationally, the photos were simple to take. The hardest part was finding the best pose.

The hardest part was the editing. At first, I just erased the stool to make it look like he was floating, but when I did that, the bricks in that area were unaligned with the rest of the wall. I attempted several different edits to correct this, and they all failed. In the end I just erased the entire photo except the spot where the subject was.

I think this photo was very successful. The edits are clean, and I feel proud of their quality.

DirecTV Imitation 8
The final photos of this project are on two subjects. The first one is meant to resemble a photo form a security camera. I accomplished this by puting in text that is similar to the information displayed on typical security feeds, making it black and white, and by using a Photoshop to make it seem a little blurry. The other 8 photos are meant to imitate DirecTV ads. Where there is speaking in a DirecTV ad, I put text in  my photos that followed their ad's typical pattern. I feel both instances are fair representations of what I was trying to accomplish, although I wish I could've spent more time on editing my photos, but I was pressed for time.

Photographer Research Recreation

My photographer inspieration, David Baily captured the culture of London in his era. Rather than trying to emulate that culture, I chose to represent modern culture, specifically the sterotypes about said culture. I feel that the photos posted above accomplish that fairly well.

Constructed Reality Project

Big Busines and the Middle Class

Nostalgia 1

Nostalgia 2

It was a little dificult to get ideas going for this project. The creative process took longer than I would've liked. After I got through that the project went much more smoothly. I did not construct any setups, or use lighting set ups. I simply used props. I feel the project went very well.
I do wish that I had realized that someone had accidentaly photobombed the only usable shot of the second to last sceen, and that I put more emphasis on the toys in the last series.

Photographer Research Assingment-Sandy Skoglund

Biography;Born September 11 1946 in the New England region. Studied studio art and art history Smith College in Northampton. Earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from University of Iowa in 1972. Started to teach herself photography to document her artistic endavors. Eventualy she began creating photos as art.

Signifigance; Her photos are trademarked by containing an overwhelming pattern of a single type of subject, often a houshold pet. This subject pattern is trademarked by being in a color which sharply contrast a dull background. Here most famous photos are Radioactive Cats"and"Revenge of the Goldfish".

Concept; I believe thgese photos are speaking out against keeping pets. In both caces we see a common household pet takeing over a human home. The people being in dim colors and the pets being more vibrant helps support this.

I like her use of contrast to create both emphasis and movement.
