Recreation 1

Original Image

Recreation
In this project I did a lot of experimentation with aperture as well as the burn and dodge tools in Photoshop. The original image was a night scene, something I knew I would not be able to replicate. In order to replicate the darkness of the original photo in a day scene, I underexposed the photo. To increase the effect of this, I made the photo black and white, and used high contrast and blacks in camera raw. I Photoshop, I used the burn tool to replicate the shadowy background found in the original. To emphasize this, I dodged the foreground. I feel this was effective, although upon close examination, the hand of Photoshop is more evident then I'd like.
Like the original, my recreation is a snowy scene. It was pure luck that it snowed the day this project was assigned. Likewise, both the original and my photo have two rows of trees, creating a focal point in the central background.
All in all, I feel that my photo recreation was successful. I only wish that my burning and dodging in Photoshop could have been more subtle. I will try to learn how to do that as the year progresses.  I also, in retrospect, would've burned the fence in my recreation.

Digital Assignment 1

Alter Ego-Shutter Speed

Evasion(Chase)-Movement

Home-Point of View-1

Evasion(Spy)-Focal Point

Home-Point of View-2
I fell that the photos I produced in this project were very successful. Working with shutter speed I was able to both produce a blur to emphasize movement, and create a clean double image to great effect.  I also felt I had success in choosing my focal point, as well as trying multiple points of view, weather I wanted the viewer to focus on a specific place, or view the entire photo at once. My one area of difficulty was producing clear images using a point and shoot camera. It would often take many tries before I got a photo that wasn't blurry. This however did not overly hinder my progress and I was still able to produce satisfactory point and shoot photos.
