While simple in practice, the concept behind these photos goes much deeper, and in order to truly understand it, one must know a little about my past. . I was born in Phoenix, Arizona and lived there for 12 years. Then, 3 years ago, I moved to Aurora, Colorado. It was definitely a shock, moving from a burning desert to a place that sees freezing temperatures and snow each winter. The "Cactus in the Snow" theme in these photos is meant to represent this transition that I went through. Like the cactus in these photos, I was a desert creature stranded in the snow.
